ABB Image Icon Converter is a useful tool that allows you to convert images to icon files (.ico) so you can create applications with your own icons or change the icon of any shortcut. It supports 24 image formats (ANI, BMP, DIB, GIF, JPG, PIC, among others). Besides converting images to icons, you can capture the image of the computer screen, a selected area, a window, or a selected icon, and convert it to a new icon file by using the "Screen Capture" window. You can also import images from clipboard. Whichever method you choose to import the image, it will be shown in the center of the main window. You can convert the entire image or zoom in to a part of it, select a rectangular area, and create the icon.
At the right top of the main window, you can select the pixel format from 1 bpp to 32 bits (monochrome, 16 colors, 26 colors etc.), select the icon size from 16x16 to 128x128, or you can manually type a customized size. At the right bottom of the main window you can preview the result before the icon is created. Animated gifs are not supported.
